Joann S. (Demos) Vlahos, 69, of 197 Walnut Street, died at the Concord Hospice House on May 3, 2006 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born in Eptahori, Greece on August 1, 1936, the daughter of Vasilios and Polyxeni (Donis) Demos and had been a Manchester area resident for the past 50 years. She had been working for the City of Manchester at Beech Street School. Prior to that, she had worked for Corflex and Pandora. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was belonged to the Anagennesis Society. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking. She was the widow of Spiros Vlahos who died in 1989. In Her Life Family members include two sons, Michael Vlahos and his wife Diane of Concord and Vasilios Bill Vlahos of Manchester; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Vlahos, both of Concord; three brothers, John Demos and his wife Vasoulla of Manchester and George Demos and Theodore Demos, both of Greece, two sisters, Kiratso Tsoumanis and Andromache Tapakopoulos, both of Greece; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM. The Trisageon Service will take place in the funeral home at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
