Joanne S. Becker, 74, of Goffstown, NH passed away peacefully July 5,2024 following a hard-fought battle against Alzheimer’s Disease.
Joanne was born in Manchester on November 3, 1949, to John and Yvonne (Turcotte) Guimond and lived her entire life in the Manchester area. She was educated through Ste Marie schools and enjoyed a long and rewarding career as an Engineer with RCL Electronics.
Joanne was an avid lover of animals, taking in countless strays and rescues over the years. In her earlier life, she enjoyed playing Bingo and kept her mind active and sharp later on with jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, word searches, and Sudoku puzzles. She also enjoyed reading and watching Sci-Fi movies, and she was well-known for her respectable collection of angels and angel paraphernalia. Described by those who knew her best as spunky, giving, hardworking and strong, she possessed an unmatched iron will and a drive to overcome any obstacle life put in her path.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Barbara Talbot and husband Keith of Weare; grandchildren Vanessa Letourneau of St. Petersburg, FL, Bryanna Letourneau of Weare, Colby Talbot of Weare, and Zane Talbot also of Weare; her great- granddaughter Aryanna Daly of Weare; sisters Lorraine Hould of TN and Pauline Grant and husband Cary of Manchester; her beloved cat Beebee; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Richard Guimond; her dogs Lucky, Coco, Prince, and Cupcake; and her cat Mama Chatte.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, July 11, 2024, 9:30am-11:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A brief Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow immediately at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road in Manchester.
