Joanne Mazzone Morrell passed away on May 26, 2023, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. She was born on October 10, 1952, in Boston, MA, to the late Joseph and Mary (McNamara) Mazzone.

Joanne spent her formative years in Billerica, MA. She graduated from Billerica Memorial High School and went on to earn an associates degree in liberal arts from Middlesex Community College.

For many years, Joanne called Knoxville, TN, her home, where she worked as a waitress at Bel Air Grille. Her warm and friendly nature endeared her to both colleagues and customers alike. She possessed a genuine love for people and took great joy in making others feel welcome and comfortable.

Joanne was a phenomenal artist and had a remarkable talent for artistic expression. She found solace and inspiration in various mediums, including pastels, pencils, stained glass, oil colors, and charcoal. Her artistic creations were a reflection of her vibrant spirit and boundless creativity winning her many awards throughout the years. In addition to visual arts, Joanne had a flair for writing poetry, beautifully capturing emotions and experiences with her words. An avid astronomer, Joanne marveled at the wonders of the universe and eagerly studied the night sky. Over the years, Joanne was an active member of a dart league, where she enjoyed the competitive spirit and camaraderie of the game. Joanne also discovered her love for gardening and found joy in watching her plants grow each year.

Family was paramount in Joanne's life, and she cherished the time she spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and niece creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and joy.

Joanne is survived by her children, Charles W. Morrell III and Misty LaVertue of Manchester, NH; her siblings, Jeffrey Mazzone and his wife Jan and Timothy Mazzone and his significant other, Lynda Pietroforte, all of Billerica, MA; her grandchildren, Jacob Morrell and his wife Victoria and Joseph Morrell, all of Tennessee, and Alexis and Andre J. LaVertue of Manchester, NH; her great-granddaughter, Mavis Morrell of Tennessee; as well as her nieces and nephew, Mallory Davis of Burlington, MA, and Melissa Mazzone of Billerica, MA, Nicholas Mazzone of Stoughton, MA, and Jessica Mazzone of Everett, MA; her great-nephew, Ben Davis of Burlington, MA; as well as her former son-in-law, Andre LaVertue of Manchester, NH. In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her significant other, David McLean, her life long friend Linda Searles and her brother, Joseph Mazzone.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 5th from 5-8PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
