BETHLEHEM, NH Joel M. Goodell, age 67, passed away suddenly on February 6, 2008, at the Littleton Regional Hospital.
Joel was born on December 4, 1940, a son to Merton and Elizabeth (Cushman) Goodell, in Bethel, VT. He attended high school in Springfield, VT and served in the US Navy.
Joel was involved in the construction industry for many years and owned Joes Gun Repair in Bethlehem. Upon moving to New Hampshire, he was employed as a custodian at the Lafayette School in Franconia, after which he owned and operated Shades of Green Lawn Care for over 20 years. He served as a Selectman for the town of Bethlehem, was Trustee of the Bethlehem Trust Fund, and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving family members include his wife, Carol (Labine) Goodell; their children C. J. Goodell, and Crystal Jayne Goodell, all of Bethlehem, NH, Lourie J. Wark of MA, Terri L. Stockman of VT, Timothy J. Goodell of VT, Christopher J. Goodell of VA, and Jeffrey Goodell of SC; four brothers, Merton, Wesley, Harry, and Robert Goodell, all of Vermont; one sister, Elizabeth Plumb of NC; ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
SERVICES Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lyn O. Winter officiating.
