John Robert Carr

John Robert Carr, 64, of Manchester, NH passed away at his home on September 23, 2022. Born in Manchester on September 16, 1958, he was the son of Robert and Jane (Desrochers) Carr.

A lifelong resident of Manchester, John graduated from Manchester West High School in 1976 and later earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. Anselm College in 1980. John worked as an insurance claims adjuster for many years, and recently retired in May. He enjoyed sports, especially baseball, hockey and golf. He was an avid reader. He had a special place in his heart for dogs, especially Elsa and Tessa, his favorite four-legged companions.

John was a beloved father, son, grandfather, brother and partner. He was quiet but always knew what to say. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he never shied away from telling the people in his life how much he loved them and how proud he was. He may be gone, but his memory and guidance will always be present.

John is survived by daughter, Megan Standafer and her husband Mike of Bow, NH, along with their children Luke, Camden, Benjamin and Lena; his son, Robert Carr and his fiancé Miguel Salazar of Pheonix, AZ; his mother, Jane Carr of Manchester, NH; his sister, Tracey Taylor and her husband Richard of Windham, NH; his lifelong partner, Marilyn MacKenzie of Manchester, NH; her children Kera MacKenzie and Andrew Mausert-Mooney of Chicago, IL and Sean and Amy MacKenzie of Plugerville, TX and their son, Brady. John was predeceased by his father, Robert Carr, in 2019.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 30^th at 11:00AM at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
