John (Jean) Adrien Cote After a period of failing health, John Adrien Cote of Manchester N.H., died at the age of 71 on January 25th, 2008. John was born March 12th 1936, in Manchester, N.H. to Robert and Yolande Dube Cote. Graduating from Manchester West High School in 1954 and Dartmouth College 1958. He attended Tulane University Law School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, completing pre-flight training, naval justice school, and Polar -Grid Navigation. His flight duty included Florida, Maryland, Iceland, Newfoundland and Scotland. After his military service he was a commercial Loan Officer at Merchants National Bank, Manchester, N.H., and a real estate appraiser with Kenny Appraisal Associates, after earning his MBA from The Whittemore School of Business and Economics, UNH. He went on to become comptroller/manager of Treasury Services at Energy North, Inc. from 1974-1984. In 1984 John started TCF Management Corp. which owned, developed, and managed self service storage. His civic and volunteer affiliations included The United Way of Greater Manchester, State –Wide Treasures of the Federal Services Campaign-National Health Agencies. Pres. of the Hillsborough Unit of the American Cancer Society, Trustee of Manchester Boys Club, Pres. of the New Hampshire District of the United States Croquet Assoc. He was a member of Dartmouth College Alumni Class of 1958, Manchester Rotary Club, Association Canado Americaine, Self Storage Association Foundation, United States Croquet Association, Stark Lane Croquet Club. John is survived by his loving wife Sylvia (Dallmeyer) Cote of 44 years and three children; Jonathan M. Cote and his wife Nannette (Glick) Cote, Christian D. Cote, and his wife Rita (Vetri) Cote and their daughter Emma; Andrea Y.R.(Cote) Tomlinson and her husband Dr. David Tomlinson and their 3 daughters; Celia, Anika and Carly. John leaves a brother Marcel and his wife Pauline and their two sons Scott and Zachary Cote He also leaves his mother-in-law Ruth Dallmeyer and sister-in-law Priscilla Parker and her husband Theodore Parker and their sons Niles, Nathaniel, Jared and Jeremy Parker. He is also survived by his maternal uncle Roland Dube and his wife Julie. A memorial service will be held at Brookside Congregational Church in a celebration of his life on Saturday February 16th @ 2:00pm Burial with military honors will take place later this spring at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's name to The American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
