JOHN E. DIAMANTOPLOS MANCHESTER John E. Diamantoplos, 86, died July 10, 2007, at home after a long illness. Mr. Diamantoplos was born on March 1, 1921, in Manchester, the son of the late John M. and Catherine (Patfora) Diamantoplos. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Waumbec Mills and St. Peters Church, in Auburn. Members of his family include, his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Ginette Diamantoplos, of Manchester, 3 sons, Michael Diamantoplos of Manchester; John Diamantoplos, of Goffstown; William Bill Diamantoplos of Hooksett; 5 daughters, Michelle Fortuna, of Manchester; Elaine Demetrakopoulos, of Manchester; Mary Matteau, of Manchester; Catherine Sullivan, also of Manchester; and Marianne Carreau, of Hooksett, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. IN HIS LIFE: He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Diamantoplos served in the 4147th Army Air Force Division. He received various medals. Among them were the Victory Medal World War II, European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal w/ 1 Bronze Star. SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A private family service will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home in the chapel and private burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Manchester.
