John Jack Foley, 64 of Manchester, died January 1, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bedford, MA following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Manchester on July 20, 1941, the son of John F. and Virginia (Grendel) Foley. He attended local schools and was a United States Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Fulton in support of the submarine fleet. He also played in the Navy band. John was a self-educated musician who traveled all over the United States with well knows bands. He was a proficient drummer and guitarist. He was a devout Christian who was loved by those he met. He was an avid reader and adept in many subjects. Family members include his mother of Manchester, two daughters, Jamie Bailey of ND and Autumn Rose Foley of ME; several grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Moynihan of Hilo, Hawaii and Virginia Gilman of Long Beach, CA; two aunts, two nephews and several cousins. A private memorial service and urn burial will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
