OBITUARY NOTICE JOHN W. HUGRON CANTERBURY – John W. Hugron, 79, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association Hospice House, in Concord. Mr. Hugron was born in Canterbury, NH, April 8, 1931, the son of the late, Arthur J. and Margaret (Wyatt) Hugron. He was a veteran, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hugron was employed by the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation for 30 years. He retired to work full time with his gardening business, Green Thumb Acres, which he continued through 2009. Specializing in sweet corn and tomatoes, many of his customers said he grew the best corn in the state. The NH Farm Bureau gave him the title of Corn King. In his earlier years, he served as a Canterbury Selectman, part time police officer and Chairman of the Canterbury Fair. The 2010 Canterbury Town Report was dedicated to John & Beverly. He was a member of the American Legion-Penacook Post, # 31. Members of his family, include; his wife of 59 years, Beverly (George) Hugron, of Canterbury, his daughter, Mary Theresa and her husband Jim Fatula, of Orlando, FL; two sons, John A. and his wife, Anne Marie of Franklin, NH; Donald E. and his wife Linda of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Benjamin Hugron, Christopher Hugron Corliss, Amber Hugron, one sister, Rose Marston, of Concord, NH, long time employee Lori Lamont, who he considered his daughter, several nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Shirley Boyce. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters. SERVICES: A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5, 11:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 9 Bonney Street, in Penacook, NH.
