John P. Kelley, 71, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2018 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Jamaica Plain, MA, he was the son of the late John C. Kelley and Katherine Kelley. For several decades, John worked as a steamfitter, Local 537, Boston, MA until his retirement.
An honorably discharged veteran, John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, 1966 to 1969.
A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, John was the pillar of strength for his family. John found great comfort in his Christian Faith and was a longtime member of Manchester Christian Church. On the weekends, John enjoyed going to the firing range and sharing a cup of coffee with friends at the Red Barn Diner. John will be best remembered for his sense of humor and love of family.
John is survived by his two sons, Christopher M. Kelley and wife Adela of Manchester, and John R. Kelley of Manchester; two daughters, Nicole M. Parker and husband Austin of Manchester, and Catherine T. Dorfman and husband Greg of Bow; five grandchildren, Christopher, Jacoby, Lilith and Carter Kelley and Jade Parker; granddog, Cayce; and his "adopted" son, John Derricott; and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Donna Kelley.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Memorial Gathering will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium on Sunday, December 23, from 11:00A.M. to 12:00P.M. followed by his Memorial Service and Military Honors at 12:00P.M.
