John A. Klop, 74, Northwood Lake, Deerfield, died September 22, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Manchester on June 16, 1935, the son of John and Helen (Fisher) Klop and had been a Bedford resident for many years before moving to Deerfield in 2003. He and his wife wintered in Naples, FL for many years. He was a graduate of West High School and attended Springfield College. He was in the United States Naval Reserves for eight years. For 38 years, he was employed by the Union Leader Corporation as a Pressman and was a member of the Graphic Communications International Union. He was a loving father and grand father. An avid golfer and skier, he enjoyed fishing and was a true athlete & outdoorsman. For the past 18 years, Jack was admired and an inspiration to all for the way he overcame the many challenges associated with his stroke. In His Life: Family members include his wife of 52 years, Frances "Fran" (Lavoie) Klop; a son, John W. Klop of Manchester; four daughters, Kathy Bennett of Deerfield. Donna K. Lencki of Candia, Jackie Sweet of Centerville, VA and Karen Logan and her husband Scott of Eliot, ME; seven grandchildren, Haley Proulx, Cameron "Cam" and Jonathan "Zane" Lencki, Garrett and Ryan Sweet, and Andrea "Andi" and Ian Logan; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at the Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St. on Saturday from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM in Bedford Presbyterian Church. Burial will be held privately at another time in Bedford Center Cemetery.
