JOHN R. LANGWORTHY
ALEXANDRIA, VA John R. Langworthy, age 28, passed away suddenly at his home in Alexandria.
John was born on July 23, 1977, a son to Richard and Barbara (Smith) Langworthy in Lowell, MA. He attended Chelmsford, MA Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1995.
John was a member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar of Distinction. He attended Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth programs and was an altar boy and communicant of St. Marys Church. He also served as an altar boy at Our Lady of the Snows in Franconia, NH. John was a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University with both a bachelors and a masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering. At CMU he served as the president and librarian of the Vermillion Society. At the time of his death, he was a senior software engineer for Scientific Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and lived in Alexandria, VA. He was working on his doctorate at James Mason University and was a member of IEEE.
In addition to his parents, Richard and Barbara Langworthy of Franconia, NH, his brother, Paul, of Franconia, NH and West Palm Beach, FL, also survives him.
SERVICES The family will receive friends on Friday evening, September 16, 2005 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union Street, Littleton, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 17th, at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Franconia, NH with Rev. Fr. John Fleming as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia.
