John F. McGrath, III, 63, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2021 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, with his loving family at his side.

Born in Fitchburg, MA, he is the son of the late John F. McGrath, Jr. and Ann (Patton) McGrath. John, a U.S. Navy Veteran, was raised and educated in Massachusetts, he met and married the love of his life, Annette Desrochers. The young couple settled in New Hampshire to raise their 7 wonderful children. A Master Painter for over 40 years, John was passionate about his work and loved to teach his sons the painting trade.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, John was the pillar of strength for his family. A true family man, John's children and grandchildren were paramount in his life. He was deeply proud of all their accomplishments. Cooking for family and friends always brought John happiness, especially for large gatherings, special occasions, and holidays. John loved taking his family to the beaches of Rye, NH and enjoyed fishing along the New Hampshire coastline. In his younger years, John enjoyed attending concerts with his wife and friends. John cherished time spent with his sons bonding around bonfires. A chocolate enthusiast, John has an affinity for anything chocolate. When it was time to relax, John enjoyed the company of his cat Dexter. John will be best remembered for his dedication and love for family.

In addition to his beloved wife, Annette, with whom John shared 38 years of marriage, John is survived by his daughter, Ashley McGrath and fiancé, David Fraser who was great friends with John; six sons, John McGrath and wife Shannon, Nathan McGrath and wife Tiffany, Marc McGrath and wife Sharon, Brendan McGrath, Taylor McGrath, and Ian McGrath; seven grandchildren, Emma, Kailyn, Makayla, William, Connor, Madeline, and Orion; five siblings, Ann Vienneau, Kathy Hayward, Patty Trick, Justin McGrath, and Thomas McGrath; mother-in-law, Priscilla Desrochers; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
