John V. Rodrigues

John V. Rodrigues, 52, of Manchester died at home on December 8, 2005 following a lengthy illness. John was born on March 20, 1953 in San Francisco, CA the son of CW4 Ret. US Army Joseph R. Rodrigues and the late Lorraine M. (Rosario) Rodrigues. He enjoyed working outdoors and while his hobby was landscaping he was able to build a career around it. John was the former owner of J & R Lawn Maintenance, Inc. which he owned and operated for several years in Manchester prior to his illness. Growing up as an "army brat," John had an appreciation for traveling and did so when he had the opportunity. He also had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a loving husband and a private man. John loved spending his days thinking of unique recipes and enjoyed sharing his creations with others. He was proud of his years of work in his rock garden and tending to his house plants. He took great interest in watching the news and following the stock market. When he was able to, John enjoyed to bowl which he did for many years in various bowling leagues. Family members include; his wife, best friend and soul mate, Penny (Polites) Rodrigues; a son, Christopher Rodrigues of Las Vegas, NV; his father and step-mom Laura of Albuquerque, NM; one grandchild; three brothers, Louis Rodrigues of Manchester, David Rodrigues of Molokai, Hawaii and Mark Rodrigues of Salida, California; one sister, Toni Rodrigues of Las Vegas, NV; one half sister, Marie Remen of Peahou, Ha.; several step-siblings; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. IN HIS LIFE: John leaves behind their two "kids," Keone and NoL. The dogs were very much loved and he enjoyed playing with them. He was predeceased by a brother, Mike Rodrigues. We will all miss “Uncle” and he will always be in our hearts looking over everybody that he touched. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 with a Service at 7:30 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester.
