John Shopiak, 84, of Manchester died December 28, 2007 at his daughters home in Concord, following a period of declining health. John was born on January 16, 1923 in Lvov, Ukraine the son of Wasyl and Anastasia (Woroniac) Shopiak. He was raised and educated in the Ukraine. John moved to the US in 1948. In 1958 he married Lorraine Goudreau and the couple shared 49 wonderful years together before her passing in May of 2007. He was a longtime resident of 25 Sunset Pine Drive, Manchester, having spent the last 8 months at 160 West Parish Rd in Concord. He owned and operated City Window Cleaning Company for over forty years. He also worked along side his wife as an escort driver at her business, New England Escort Services for many years. John was a founding and longtime member of the Ukrainian Association. He loved fishing and hunting, was an avid gardener as well as having been a lover of animals. John was known for being a wonderful person. He was a gentle, warm and caring man. Family members include: four daughters, Judy Ann Roby of Concord, Elaine Cooper of Concord, Lisha Boucher of Barrington and Rosan Boucher of Manchester, 13 granchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives abroad as well as members of the Sopiak family. Calling Hours will be held on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00PM and 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester. His Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:30AM.
