JOHN JACK H. TILTON, SR.

FRANCONIA, NH -- John Havemeyer Tilton, Sr., 79, passed away on March 18th at the Lafayette Center in Franconia, NH.

Jack was born in New York City, NY on August 4, 1925, a son to George H. and Theodora (Tiffany) Tilton.

Jack was the fifth generation of Tiltons to live in the Littleton area. He attended Yale University, School of Fine Arts and Annapolis Naval Academy. Jack was a Commercial Artist as well as having served in the New Hampshire State Legislature representing Littleton for 12 years. He served on the Board of Directors for both the Indian Head Bank and the Lafayette National Bank. Jack loved to golf and was an active member of the Profile Club for many years. After retiring, Jack made his home in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire surrounded by the mountains he loved to paint.

Jack leaves three children, John H. Tilton of New York City, NY, Frederick S. Tilton of Littleton, NH, and Mary Ann Tilton of Concord, NH; and four grandchildren, James and Robert Tilton, and John and Theodora OLeary.

Jack was predeceased by his wife, Marjory Seidler Tilton and his brother George Henry Tilton of Alexandria, Virginia.

SERVICES  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Sugar Hill Community Church with Rev. Carl Schaller officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Glenwood Cemetery in Littleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Littleton Area, St. Johnsbury Road, Littleton, NH 03561.
