BETHLEHEM, NH – John C. Westover, 74, passed away after a long illness, unexpectedly on June 13th, 2016 at the Veteran's Home in Tilton, NH
John was born on February 8, 1942, a son to the late William D. and Alfreda B. Westover. He graduated from Lancaster High School, Class of 1962 and attended 3 years at UNH. John served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1971.
He made his home in Bethlehem for 42 years before moving to Tilton. John was employed as a technician for the Groveton Paper Mill for many years. He was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and took pride in his gardening of both. John enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving family members include two brothers, Kenneth N. and wife, Su Westover of Newport News, VA, William D. Westover of Manchester, NH; 4 sisters, Beverly Stebbins and husband Richard, Mildred Brann of Ohio, Dorothy Wentworth and husband Larry of Littleton, NH, Elizabeth Blanchard of Bethlehem, NH, and many nieces, nephews and friends. John was predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers Roger, Donald and Dale.
SERVICES – A Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 27th at 11:30 a.m. in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH with full Military Honors given.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the NH Veteran's Home, 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH 03276.
