John Albert Wilcoxson, 67, of Littleton died peacefully at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital on April 17, 2013 surrounded by family and friends.
John was born November 13, 1945 in Bridgeport, CT to Albert and Helen (Garlick) Wilcoxson of Stratford, CT. John graduated from Bunnell High School in Stratford, CT, 1965. He attended Johnson State College in Johnson, VT and Houstonic Community College. John served in the Air Force as Crew Chief during the Vietnam War. A native of Stratford, CT, John later moved to Southbury, CT. In 1990 he moved to NH, first living in Easton then settling in Littleton.
While John resided in CT he worked for Southern New England Telephone (AT&T) and Northern Telecom (Nortel) as an account executive. In New Hampshire he was a member of the Easton Fire Department serving as Captain for many of those years. He was Deputy Fire Warden for the town of Easton, NH and a member of the US Air Force Association.
John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia (Andrew) Wilcoxson; daughter, Kelly (Wilcoxson) Bluestein of Simsbury, CT; son-in-law, Todd Bluestein of Simsbury, CT; daughter, Julia Wilcoxson of Durham, CT; son, John D. Wilcoxson of Denver, NC; daughter in-law, Candace Wilcoxson; sister, Joanne (Wilcoxson) Izzo; brother-in-law, Jim Izzo; grandsons, Tyler Bluestein, Reed Bluestein and Alex Wilcoxson; 4 nephews and 3 nieces.
An hour of gathering will take place Tuesday, April 23rd, 10:00am-11:00am at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire/Pillsbury-Phaneuf Funeral Home, 101 Union Street in Littleton. A memorial service will follow immediately at 11:00am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in John's memory may be made to the John A. Wilcoxson Memorial Fund at any Woodsville Guaranty Bank, or mailed to Woodsville Guaranty Bank, 189 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561
