Jonathan Knight Barchus
Jonathan Knight Barchus of Manchester, NH, age 78 beloved husband and father, dedicated born-again Christian with an infectious smile that that he shared with everyone went home to be with his Lord Christ Jesus on January 21, 2018.
Mr. Barchus was born on June 8, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Daniel and Mary
(Knight) Barchus, and brother to Samuel C. Barchus.
Members of his family include his beloved wife of 59 years, Joyce (Thibault) Barchus of Bedford, NH; children; Christine Dame, Jeffrey Barchus, Emily Schunemann of Manchester, and Allison Niedbala of Goffstown. He leaves behind five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He deeply loved his children and his forgiveness and love was never ending.
Mr. Barchus served for a short time in the National Guard. His professions include; top salesman for 3M Company, WDER as a Christian disc jockey, The Derry News as circulation manager, residential care manager for neglected and abused children, and the Tennessee State Hospital in that same capacity. He had great love and compassion for hurting and abused children which was demonstrated even in time of his sickness.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 25, from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at
6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Association for the Blind, or the Diabetes Association, or the C.B.N. 700 Club, (Operation Children).
