Mr. Jonathan Matthew Hoffmann, 46 years old, of Manchester, NH, passed away on November 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving parents, brother and sister-in-law at the home of his brother, Joe Hoffmann, Whitefield, NH, following a brief period of declining health.
Jonathan was born in Hackensack, NJ on March 21, 1976, and was adopted by Joseph and Shirley (Van Dongen) Hoffmann. He attended Easter Seals and received a diploma of general studies in 1996.
Jonathan lived a life full of love surrounded by his family, first in New Jersey and then in New Hampshire after the family moved in 1988. Jonathan was very clever, smart and crafty young man never letting his disability of cerebral palsy slow him down. Jonathan, though tenacious at times, was gentle hearted, loving and always willing to make you laugh in his own unique way. His bright, sparkling blue eyes could lighten the darkest spaces and made everyone around him happy because Jonathan brought joy, true joy, within him.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Joseph and Shirley of Franklinton, NC; his sister Kim Metzel and brother-in-law Scott Metzel of Wake Forest, NC; his brother Joe Hoffmann and sister-in-law Charlene Hoffmann of Whitefield, NH; his sister Dawn Hoffmann of Peoria, AZ; his beloved nieces and nephews, Brandon Metzel, Collin Metzel, Skylar Metzel, Jensen Metzel, Grey Hodson, Sydney Hodson; Colten Bradley, and Connor Bradley; dear close life-long friends Katelyn Levy, Joel Levy, Diana Tuller, Noel Tuller, Bryant Tuller and Leonard Leiken; as well as many extended family members and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 5th from 2-6pm with a funeral service at 6pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North Country Home Health & Hospice or Easter Seals.
