Jose Ricardo “Rick” Garcia, 62, of Manchester, New Hampshire, went home to be with his Lord and Savior yesterday, on his 62nd birthday, after courageously fighting his battle with cancer. While his family grieves their loss, they celebrate Jose’s Heavenly homegoing and find joy picturing the birthday celebration as he finally met Jesus face to face.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Naomi; sons, Aaron (Lorel), Javier (Tori), Jeremiah, and Jesse; daughters, Clarissa (Andrew), Miranda, and Vanessa; beloved grandchildren, Alaina, Cole, Asher, Ayana, Kordan, Adaline, Liam, Mara, and Kenton; mother, Maria Telleria; aunt, Salvadora “Yoya” Roque; brothers, Reynaldo, Tony, Mario, Eduardo, and Javier; and sister, Marcia, along with many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Creativity, strength, and integrity are just a few of the many wonderful characteristics that Jose possessed. He had many artistic qualities which he applied to anything he touched, from cooking, dancing, and drawing, to creating incredible ice sculptures, ornate fruit masterpieces, and so much more. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, baseball, fishing, and kayaking, and exemplified incredible work ethic. Jose was a talented competitive pool player, spending his free time honing his skills with his team, The Three Cousins, and participating in competitions, including advancing to Las Vegas three times. On Sundays he worshipped with his church family at Trinity Baptist Church in Concord. A hallmark of Jose’s rich personality was a dry sarcasm and wit that his wife and children will forever regard with great affection.
