Joseph Maurice “Moe” Bournival, 97, son of late Joseph R. Bournival and Marie (Ferland) Bournival passed away after a period of declining health at The Courville of Manchester on September 22, 2026.

Born on February 28, 1929 in Manchester, NH, Moe graduated from Manchester High School West after distinguishing himself in both football and tennis. His early career path included working at a local engineering firm where he met the love of his life - Margaret “Marge” (Lagace) Bournival (predeceased) whom he was married to for 67 years. He continued working in the engineering industry at Sanders for many years. Moe had an entrepreneurial spirit developing a slide chart tool that he sold through his own company MoMar. His product was purchased worldwide by small and large companies alike. Another sideline position during this time included being an adjunct instructor for a brief period at St. Anselm College. In the early 70’s, his life took a major turn when he opened his own business, a health food store, Bonne Sante. The health food and vitamin trend was just starting at the time and he went on to proudly and successfully run it for 36 years. Moe was active in his community of Goffstown as a Rotary Club member and also a communicant at St. Lawrence Church for decades.

His lifelong passions included playing tennis, bowling, gardening, and chess playing. Moe was an avid Boston sports fan, particularly the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics, rarely missing any of their games. After retirement he loved woodworking projects that were evident throughout his yard. He continued playing tennis into his eighties and only stopped bowling about a year ago.

For many years Moe and Marge would travel to Florida to escape the winter cold and to visit family and friends. Moe also traveled to the West Coast to visit his siblings.

He is survived by his twin daughters, Christine Bodi of Hampton, NH; and Elizabeth Dottery of Hooksett, NH; also a step-daughter Janice Brown of Elk Grove, IL; and preceded in death by his son Maurice Bournival and stepdaughter Anne Brown. Siblings include a sister Jeannette Bournival and husband Ken of Medford, OR; and a brother (predeceased) Ferdinand Bournival. Grandchildren include, Braden, Evan, Andrew, Kelly, Ryan, Michael, Kevin, Courtney, Wendy, Amanda & Kristie. Also several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Moe’s family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Carlyle Place in Bedford, NH and The Courville at Manchester, NH for their exceptional care, compassion and kindness shown to him and to our family during his stays there.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 1 E. Union Street, in Goffstown, NH. Interment will be held privately at a future date.
