BETHLEHEM, NH -- Joseph O. Herbert, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Profile Road on Wednesday, April 22nd, after a long illness.
Joseph was born on April 26, 1927, a son of Clayton E. and Amy E. (Morse) Herbert, in Littleton, NH. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Joe received an Honorary Diploma from Littleton High School in 2002.
Joe was a Master Plumber and owned and operated Herbert Plumbing and Heating for many years.
Surviving family members include his wife of 60 years, Edith Herbert of Bethlehem, five children, Shirley Austin and family of Litchfield, NH, Donald and his wife, Elaine Herbert of Topsham, ME, Michael and his wife, Margaret Herbert of Goffstown, NH, Carol Herbert and family of Littleton, NH, Jim and his wife, Sue Herbert of Twin Mountain, NH; and; two brothers, George Herbert and Clayton Herbert both of Littleton, NH; 14 grandchildren, Jason Austin, Jesse Austin, Brian Herbert, Jennifer Herbert, Jeremy Herbert, David Schultz, Michelini Schultz, Stephen Schultz, James Joseph Herbert, Julie Herbert, Trisha Lavin, Randy Lavin, Ralph Lavin, and Lori Lavin; and 18 great-grandchildren.
SERVICES A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 27th at 1:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Disabled Veterans, 27 Lowell St., Manchester, NH 03101.
