Joseph G. Labrie, 87, of 100 Pinard Street, died January 29, 2005 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Manchester on February 18, 1917, the son of Francois and Clara (Lavoie) Labrie and had been a Manchester resident for most of his life. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star. After his honorable discharge as a Sargent Major, he worked for Associated Grocers for seventeen years. After that, he owned and operated his own real estate company for over ten years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of the Church of Transfiguration. He was a member of the American Legion Sweeney Post #2 and the VFW Post 8214. He had a great love of life and enjoyed socializing and being around people. He loved to travel, dance and took pride in his garden where he grew tomatoes and roses. Family members include his wife of 62 years, Sadie (Bouley) Labrie; and many nephews, nieces and cousins, grand and great grand nephews and nieces. In His Life: He and his wife enjoyed spending time with their close friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bertrand Tardiff, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Babei and their children whom he considered his nephews and nieces as well as the Lagasse family. He was predeceased in life by several brother and sisters. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at Noon in the Church of the Transfiguration. Burial with military honors will take place in the spring in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery in Suncook.
