Joseph Adrien Mercier, 85, of 770 Howe Street, died at his residence March 27, 2001. He was born in Manchester on October 17, 1915, the son of the late Theophile and Marguritte (Berube) Mercier and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was a W.W. II Navy Veteran. Mr. Mercier owned and operated NH Parlor Frame Company for over 12 years and worked for Hermsdorf Company as a cabinet maker for 15 years. Family members include his wife of 63 years, Irene (Potvin) Mercier, a son Richard Mercier, a grandchild, Elijah Mercier, all of Manchester, three sisters, Blanche Simard of Manchester, Jean Lussier of Glastonbury, Connecticut and Marie Anne Berube of Newington, Connecticut, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium Chapel, 243 Hanover Street, Friday morning from 9 to 11 o'clock with the service immediately following at 11 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
