Joseph Gerard (Gerry) Ouellette, 58, of 429 Cartier St., died January 14, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center following a long illness. He was born in Madawaska, ME on February 20, 1941, the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Cyr) Ouellette and had been a Manchester resident for the past 24 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He had been employed as a school bus driver for Goffstown Trucking until his illness caused his retirement. Prior to that, he has been a self-employed woodworker for 35 years. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church. He was an avid woodworker. He was a devoted husband and father and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Family members include his wife of 35 years, Georgette (Therrien) Ouellette; three daughters, Mrs. Mick (Nika) Hipsher, Mrs. Stephen (Sandra) LaRose and Mrs. Joseph (Karrie) Manning, all of Manchester; seven grandchildren; a brother, Gilman Ouellette of Weare; eight sisters, Lorraine Colburn of Hillsboro; Laurette Wilkins of Hillsboro, Germaine Desmarais of Wilton, Tina DiGianni, Marcella DiGianni and Marie O'Hayes, all of CT, Doris Sisson of OK and Marie Paige of ME; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 in St. Patrick Church. Spring burial will take place in Harvey Memorial Cemetery in Hillsboro.
