Joseph Paul Phaneuf Sr. – Manchester Age 76 of Manchester, died Monday May 1st at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center in Manchester. He was born on May 16, 1929 in New York, NY the son of Annette G. (Phaneuf) DesRochers. He was raised and educated in Manchester. He was a graduate of the New Hampshire Technical School. He had served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged. He had worked for 36 years as a machinist at Sprague Electric in Nashua, until retiring in 1996. He was an avid fisherman, who also enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita D. (Nault) Phaneuf of Manchester. 3 sons; Joseph P. Phaneuf Jr. of Portage, PA , Robert P. Phaneuf of Litchfield and Paul E. Phaneuf of Concord. Daughter Denise C. Morgan-Coleman of Manchester. 4 sisters; Lucille Huard and Georgette La Fleur of Goffstown and Rachel Proulx and Jeanne La Salle of Manchester. Brother Bertrand DesRochers of Florida. 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Fernande Phaneuf. Calling hours are Wednesday May 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematory 243 Hanover Street Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 4th at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church on Candia Road in Manchester. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
