Joseph F. Selvoski, 91, of Bedford, NH died Sunday April 10, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 8, 1919 in Old Forge, PA the son of the late Joseph Francis and Helen Frances (Warminski) Selvoski.
Mr. Selvoski was a Pearl Harbor survivor and took part in the dedication of the new bridge to the Manchester airport.
He was the owner and operator of Selvoskiâs Texaco in Bedford for over twenty years. Joe, his wife and family are the owners of Maryâs Closet in Manchester. For many years he worked side by side with his family costuming entertainers for the stage.
He was instrumental in chartering Little League Bedford Girls Softball. Joe was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was happiest when his home was filled with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Selvoski was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton and was a member of The Seton Club.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Toolan) Selvoski of Bedford, NH; children, MaryJo Smith of Bedford, NH, Kim Cassidy of Windham, NH, Dawna Johonnett of Bedford, NH, Stacey Keaney of Connecticut, Lana LePine of Dunbarton, NH and James Edward LePine of Londonderry, NH.
In His Life: He is also survived by his nephew, Michael Surderski who he raised like a son; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jay, Robert, Matthew, Rebecca, Travis, Tyler, Erinn, Rachel, Delia, Clara, Colin, Clare and Owen and his two great grandchildren, Anna and June.
There are no calling hours. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford on Friday at 11:00AM. Burial will be at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery on Friday at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Joeâs name can be made to the VNA of Manchester and So. NH, 33 S.
