Joseph John Slemp

December 28, 1957 — September 9, 2024

Hooksett

Joseph John Slemp, 66, of Hooksett, NH, passed away with family by his side on September 9, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center. Born in Manchester, NH on December 28, 1957, he was a son of the late Joseph P. Slemp and Germaine (Plourde) Gilbert.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of the Manchester and Hooksett communities. His early career was spent at D’Angelo’s before working as a machinist and saw operator at Bronzecraft in Nashua for many years. Joseph was fortunate to enjoy 20 happy years of retirement with his former wife of nearly 50 years. He loved spending time outdoors, including visits to Hampton Beach, camping, riding his motorcycle, and simply sitting on his porch watching the wildlife on the Merrimack River. He also enjoyed his stogies at Castro’s and watching Patriots games. Joseph always looked forward to his winters in Florida and relaxing in his hot tub. Above all else, he was the beloved patriarch of his family and cherished time spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ferland and her husband, Ronald Ferland Jr. of Allenstown; his sisters, Joyce Cairnes of Manchester and Gayle Dolbec of Ticonderoga, NY; his granddaughters, Lauren Ferland of Allenstown and Skylar Jones and her husband Thomas of Milford; his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Adalyn, Emmett and Theodore; his step-father, Gerard Gilbert of Manchester; his daughter-in-law, Jessica Clark of Bow; his former wife, Kathy (Martin) Slemp of Brooksville, FL; his former brother-in-laws, Brian Martin and his wife Linda of Hinsdale and James Martin of Manchester; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his son, Steven Joseph Slemp; his brothers, Jaime and Jan Slemp; his brother-in-law, Wally Cairnes; and his former in-laws, Helen and Arthur Martin, who loved him like he was their own son.

Stephanie and Ron Ferland would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at CMC.

Per Joe’s wishes, no services will be held.
