Josephine R. Potter, 89 of Hinsdale, NH passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Chesterfield, NH on October 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Percy and Alice (Dobson) Rowe.
Josephine has been a Hinsdale residence since 1953. She was employed by American Optical for 25 years. She then did daycare at her home for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, hunting fishing and camping.
She is predeceased by her husband, Frederick S. Potter, Sr. in 2002; a daughter, Mary Howe; two brothers, Raymond and Chester Rowe; and two sisters, Louise Rowe and Ethyl Stoddard.
She is survived by a son, Fredrick Potter, Jr. and his fiancée Debora Newport of Hinsdale; a daughter, Ruth Owen also of Hinsdale; a sister, Laura Whittemore of Hinsdale; three grandchildren Lakin Mary Scott, Haley Lynn Potter and Keith K. Owen; five great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her are no calling hours. A Graveside service will be held in the spring at Chesterfield West Cemetery in West Chesterfield, NH. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St, Brattleboro, VT has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's name to the American Cancer Society, 55 Day Ln, Williston, VT 05495 or to the American Diabetes Association of Vermont, 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, VT 05446.
