Joy Evelyn Haines

Joy Evelyn Haines, 81, of Manchester, NH and formerly of Stockton, NJ, passed away on December 19, 2021. Born in Trenton, NJ on December 30, 1939, she was a daughter of the late George and Ida (Joy) Best. She shared 55 years of marriage with her late husband, Herbert C. Haines.

Joy was raised and educated in Bordentown, NJ. She had a long career with the New Jersey State Police, where she worked as a clerk and supervisor, and was also where she met her husband. Joy and Herbert raised their family in Stockton, NJ. The two enjoyed looking for treasures at garage sales and taking trips to the Jersey Shore. Above all else, Joy was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Beth Mattes and her husband Gregory, and their children, Quinn and Jared, all of Goffstown, NH, as well as several extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Joy was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Lishora.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather.
