Joyce Pirog Horne
Joyce (Pirog) Horne, 76 of Stewartstown N.H. passed away peacefully on May 22nd 2018. She died from complications of Corticobasal degeneration.
She was born October 10th, 1941 in Manchester, NH to John and Marion (Sakalay) Pirog, and was the oldest of 2 children. She graduated from Merrimack High School in 1959, then went on to work for AT&T, retiring in 1993. Joyce married Albert Horne on June 17, 1961. They lived in Merrimack, Litchfield and Auburn, NH before retiring to Titusville, FL.
In her retirement years she enjoyed spending time with her grandaughters. She also enjoyed traveling, feeding stray cats, feeding deer, raccoons, fish, turtles and opossums. Joyce loved going to the Victory casino boat at Port Canaveral, NASCAR, Elvis, watching the TV shows Friends and Mash.
In her earlier years she and her husband played in bowling leagues, went on snowmobile trips and played poker games till the wee hours with family and friends. She was a member of the ASPCA.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years who passed away this past February.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children. She leaves behind a daughter, Deborah Hopkins and her husband Stephen of Merrimack; a son, Gregory Horne and his wife Cheryl of Stewartstown; a brother Ronald Pirog and his wife Mary of Pennsylvania. She will also be fondly remembered by her three grandchildren, Meghan and Melanie Hopkins, and Zachary Horne as well her nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: There will be a graveside memorial service at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.
