Juanita H. McKain

McKAIN JUANITA H., 88, of Manchester, NH and Stuart, FL and former resident of St. David's, PA on June 11, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Jr.; loving mother of Linda Collins (John) and Carol Gregor (Richard) and grandmother of John Collins, Jessica Gwinn, Richard Gwinn, Robert Gregor, Mr. & Mrs. Garth Gregor. One great granddaughter, Estella Gregor. A World War II veteran, Juanita was a Chief Yeoman in the U.S. Coast Guard based in New Orleans. Following the war, in addition to being wife and mother, she was a volunteer, auxiliary president, and member of the Women’s Commonwealth and National Boards of the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She started a League of Women Voters group in her township and was the first woman on the Board of Trustees of the Bryn Mawr Methodist Church. In 1988, she moved to New Hampshire and continued to spend winters in Stuart, FL. Mrs. McKain was a member of Miles Grant Country Club, St. Luke’s Bryn Mawr Methodist Church, and Kearsarge Presbyterian Church. A graveside service in New London, NH will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
