Jules Roger Turmelle, 64, of Weare died peacefully at home on February 23, 2012 with his family by his side after a battle with cancer. Born on March 15, 1947 in Manchester to the late Euclide and Therese (Laprise) Turmelle, Jules was raised in Hooksett with his eight brothers and sisters.
Jules graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1967â1970 and was employed by Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack for 30 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Jules enjoyed gardening, cooking, swimming, and visiting with his grandchildren during his retirement.
A loving and devoted family man, Jules' kindness, sense of humor, and love will be missed. He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Sharon (Mason) Turmelle, former wife Suzanne (Boulanger) Donnelly, daughters Elizabeth (Turmelle) Valway of Portsmouth, Jennifer (Turmelle) Boulanger of Northwood, Joanne (Turmelle) Forrest of Acton, Massachusetts, Amy (Turmelle) Gilbert of Atlanta, Georgia, stepdaughter Kelly (Mason) Lloyd of Lake Luzerne, New York, stepson Kevin Mason of Concord, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jules was predeceased by brothers Paul and Edmond and is survived by brother David of Cleveland, North Carolina, and sisters Jeannine Turmelle of Hooksett, Laurette (Turmelle) Samson of Augusta, Maine, Diane (Turmelle) Bohan of Candia, Muriel (Turmelle) Caron of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Denise (Turmelle) Boudreau of New Bern, North Carolina.
Services: Friends and family are invited to call Friday, March 2, 2012 at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104. Visiting hours are 1â2:30 pm with a short service from 2:30â3 pm. Interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum will take place with the immediate family.
