June Winifred (Gearwar) Lemire
LITTLETON, NH -- June Winifred (Gearwar) Lemire, 86, died on July 15, 2014 at Littleton Regional Hospital with her granddaughter Megan at her side.
June was born in Enfield, New Hampshire on June 6, 1928 to Clyde Albert "Jim" and Winifred Josephine (Dexter) Gearwar. She was valedictorian of Bethlehem High School, Class of 1946. She completed the junior secretarial course at Burdett College, Boston, MA where she was a member of the Phi Epsilon Sigma Sorority.
June married Anthony Phillip "Tony" Lemire on May 27, 1950 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. In 1955, June and Tony built the family home on Bronson Street where June resided until moving to Lafayette Center in 2009.
In 1960, when Tony and June started "Anthony P. Lemire, Electrical Contractor", June became secretary/bookkeeper for the business and continued for 42 years until retirement.
June was an experienced gardener. Her extensive perennial gardens around her home were beautiful throughout the spring, summer and fall. Many of her family, friends and neighbors have pieces from her hardy perennials.
Family was important to June. She was a loving daughter, caring for her elderly mother. She was always there for her 3 children. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart, doing for each one whatever was needed. How her face would light up when the great grandchildren came to visit. Large family dinners at the Bronson Street home featured her delicious cooking and baking. There were always cookies in the drawer for visitors.
June was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Bellefleur #1208 in Littleton.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Binder of Benson, AZ; a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" (husband Glen) Little of St. Johnsbury, VT; a son, Ronald Lemire of Littleton; grandchildren, Christopher (wife Yolanda), Stephen, and Linda (husband Brian) Little, and William, Jennifer and Megan Lemire; great grandchildren Nahum, Whalen and Isabella. Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Lemire and a son, Richard Lemire.
SERVICES --A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Littleton. Burial will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery.
