Justine E. (Swenor) Milanese, 80, passed away on September 19, 2022 at the Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester, NH. She was born on September 7, 1942 in Sharon, CT the daughter of Earl R. Swenor and Philomena (Genito) Swenor.
Justine, also called Tina by family and friends, was raised in Troy, NY. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy in 1960. Her family then moved to Torrington, CT, where she lived for over 10 years. She then moved first to Manchester, NH, and then Hooksett, NH, where she resided for over 35 years. Justine had a successful career in the Insurance industry, first at Home Insurance in Manchester, NH for 22 years, and then Riverstone, where she retired after 19 years. She also worked part-time at Hannafords Supermarket in the customer service center for several years.
Those who knew Justine will remember a proud founding member of Red Hats in Harmony, a local chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was also a member of St. Catherine’s church choir in Manchester, NH for many years. Justine was an avid reader and doll collector, and also enjoyed yoga, music/singing, bowling, watching the Boston Red Sox, and gardening.
Justine is survived by her daughter Eva C. Milanese of Torrington, CT; sons Steven R. Milanese and Eric R. Milanese of Manchester, NH; sister Linda (Swenor) Davis and husband Chester F. Davis of Jacksonville, FL; aunt Rose Genito of Salisbury, CT; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Maple Leaf HCC and Manchester VNA Hospice.
A gathering in Justine’s memory will be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 4-6 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 29th at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Manchester NH, with a cemetery committal service scheduled for Saturday, October 15th at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salisbury, CT.
