Karen Hovanec

Karen Hovanec, 59, of Nashua, passed away on May 15, 2022. She is the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Gilligan) Hovanec.

Karen was a very kind and giving person. She was a lover of all animals and frequently volunteered at various shelters. She was animated and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time at family gatherings, going to the beach, hiking, and listening to her favorite music. Karen was a longtime Celtics fan and followed them for many years.   She was also an avid movie buff.  Her generous and warm spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her siblings: George Hovanec and his wife Maria of Dracut, MA, Kathleen Hovanec of Stratham, Robert Hovanec and his wife Pamela of Berwick, ME, Patricia Hovanec of Merrimack, and Amy Hovanec and her partner David Ford of Stratham, her five nieces and nephews: John, Emily, Thomas, Tara, and Kimberly, and her beloved gerbil, Pepper.

She is predeceased by her parents, and brother-in-law, Frank Barry.

Services for Karen will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Humane Society of Greater Nashua.
