Karleen M. Tibbetts, age 79, a Bethlehem resident passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH.
She was born December 15, 1929 in Lancaster, NH to Charles F. (Dinty) & Ida M. (Pike) Moore.
She graduated from Groveton High School class of 1947, where she played high school basketball. She loved to ice skate and could often be found bowling with friends or on a league. Karleen married Walter E. Tibbetts August 23, 1947 in Groveton, NH he predeceased her August 15, 2009. She enjoyed family and friends, traveling, dining out, bingo, and was an avid sports fan. She was a member of the Bethlehem Heritage Society, Durrell Methodist Church and former member of the Rebekas and the Northern Star all of Bethlehem, NH.
She moved to California in 1962 and worked for Tenneco formally Cal-Date in Indio, CA retiring in the late 80s and returning to New Hampshire in 1998.
Karleen is survived by two children Lana Tibbetts of Bethlehem, NH, Dana and wife Sheri Tibbetts, Sr. of Lakeport, CA, a grandson, Dana and wife Katie Tibbetts, Jr., two great grandchildren, McKenna and James Tibbetts all of Citrus Heights, CA; brother, Dana and wife Fern Moore of Billings, MT; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Durrell United Methodist Church in Bethlehem with the Rev. Richard Hanson, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Karleens name to the Bethlehem Heritage Society, Durrell United Methodist Church, or the Bethlehem Ambulance.
