KATHERINE SHERBURNE
LITTLETON, NH Katherine Sherburne, age 72, passed away on Thursday, January 8th at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield, NH.
Katherine was born on January 25, 1936, a daughter to Prosper H. and Mildred E. (Parker) Salmon, in Lisbon, NH. She attended area schools. She married Rodney Sherburne in 1963 and made their home on Manns Hill in Littleton.
She was employed at the Littleton Diner for several years until retiring in 1984. Katherine enjoyed knitting and loved playing bingo and cribbage tournaments. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Katherine loved animals and currently leaves her six cats, four dogs and one rabbit behind, although at one time she had 30 cats of whom she knew all by their own names.
Surviving family members include her daughter Laurie Bonnett of Groveton, NH; four stepsons, David Sherburne of Raynham, MA, Daniel Sherburne of Avon, MA, Kenneth Sherburne of Middleboro, MA, and Steven Sherburne of Taunton, MA; two sisters, Dorothy Sharman of Whitefield, NH and Daisy Salmon of Littleton, NH; 12 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney in 2000, her brother, Prosper Hank Salmon, and most recently her son, Stuart Salmon on January 3, 2009.
SERVICES -- The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ernest Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the American Legion Post #68 immediately following the funeral service.
