Kathleen L. DeAngelis-Briggs

Kathleen Lois DeAngelis-Briggs, 91, of Boscawen, NH, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, while in the gentle care of the skilled staff of Merrimack County Nursing Home. Kathleen was born in Concord, NH on April 16, 1933, to Daniel J. Sr. and Josephine (Wuytack) Donovan, and she was the proud wife of Preston G. Briggs for the past 40 years. She graduated from St. John’s School in 1951 and held several jobs following high school. She worked as a dental hygienist, a telephone operator, and eventually as a crossing guard at Dewey School.

Kathleen enjoyed watching the birds as they visited her feeders, playing games of chance, expertly applying her always-flawless makeup, and shopping from home. Above all else, Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family, including her brothers as well as her nieces and nephews. She had an endless supply of stories about Concord’s colorful history and always had a smile for everyone she came in contact with. She possessed a loving and generous spirit, and her thoughtfulness of others was unparalleled.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Preston G. Briggs; her daughter Karen LaBonte; her son David F. DeAngelis Jr. and wife Karen Robinson-DeAngelis; grandson Matthew DeAngelis; brothers Bruce Donovan and wife Nancee and Brian Donovan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her first husband, David F. DeAngelis Sr., and her brother Daniel J. Donovan Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather Saturday, February 1, 2025, 11:00am-12:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium at 172 King Street in Boscawen. Memorial Service will begin at noon in the funeral home chapel, with a luncheon to follow immediately at Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
