Kathleen "Kay" H. Gunther, 95 of Grafton, VT passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Pine Heights Nursing Home in Brattleboro, VT. She was born on November 8, 1921 in Baltimore, MD; the daughter of the late Frank H. and Mary (Robinson) Gunther
.
Kay has been a Grafton resident for over 25 years. She was employed as a Realtor until her retirement. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Heritage Foundation, and the Garden Club. She was also a parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Townshend.
She is predeceased by a brother, George A. Gunther and four sisters, Virginia Harkins, Ann Gunther, Priscilla Gunther and Mary Francis Gunther.
Kay is survived by two nieces, Mary Gunther of Newburgh, NY and Penny Marwede of Worcester, VT; a nephew, Dr. Peter Gunther and his wife Paulette Thabault of S. Burlington, VT; and a grand-niece, Sasha Gunther of Boston, Ma and a grand-nephew, Jamie Gunther of Bronx, NY.
The family wishes to extend a deep gratitude to the nurses and staff of Pine Heights Nursing Home, Valley Cares Assisted Living, and to Dr. Maurice Geurts of Grace Cottage Hospital for all the kindness, care and compassion that was shown to Kay. Thank You!
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, R92 Grafton Rd., Townshend, VT 05353. Burial will follow at Houghtonville Cemetery in Grafton, VT. A Reception will follow at the Grafton Inn Pub in Grafton. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro, VT is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Cottage Foundation, P.O. Box 1, Townshend, VT 05353.
