Kathleen M. Kanya, 79, of Hooksett NH, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2023 with her loving husband Lou by her side. She was born on July 26, 1943, to the late Raymond & Rose (Fox) Conboy in Sumter, SC, and would spend much of her life in Elmont, NY, Succasunna, NJ and Bedford/Hooksett, NH.
Kathleen was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and friend to many. She was married to her beloved husband Lou for 58 years, a true testament to the love and devotion they shared. Kathleen's love for her family was immeasurable and she was always there for them, offering support, love, and laughter. Being the oldest of nine children was a source of pride for her and the wonderful family that came from that. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In her free time, Kathleen was an avid reader who loved getting lost in a good book. She was also an enthusiastic player of Mahjong, a game she loved but a group she cherished. Her commitment to family connections was never more evident than during the extended family vacations in Myrtle Beach, SC. Kathleen was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her warmth, generosity, and contagious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kathleen has joined her parents and her brother Kevin Conboy in heaven. She is survived by her husband Lou Kanya; daughter Karen Kanya; son Rick Kanya and his wife Kathy; son TJ Kanya and his wife Jenelle; her siblings; her grandchildren Brandon Stevens and his wife Heather, Alex and Brian Kanya, Lindsay and Kaleigh Agresti and Avery Kanya; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Kathleen's passing is a loss felt by many. Her love and spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be remembered as a selfless, caring and loving woman who lived a life of true joy and happiness. Her family and friends are grateful for the time they had with her and will miss her dearly.
