Kathy Soulios, age 76, of Manchester, passed away on June 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 3, 1950, in Manchester, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Andrew Balutus and Cassie (Tsiorbas) Balutus.
Kathy was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, Class of 1968, and later earned her degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester. She dedicated her career to education as a Spanish teacher. Early in her career, she assisted with evening ESOL classes for English language learners at Central High School, where she met the love of her life, Dimitrios Soulios. Together, they went on to share 53 years of marriage and build a life filled with love, family, and lasting memories. She continued her teaching career at Raymond High School before stepping away from the classroom to focus on raising her family. Later, she returned to her alma mater, Manchester Memorial High School, where she taught Spanish for 30 years, inspiring generations of students with her love of language and learning before retiring in 2023.
Kathy was fiercely devoted to her family, who were the center of her world. Everything she did was rooted in her love for them, and she considered being a wife, mother, and beloved Yia Yia to her grandchildren her greatest accomplishment. She loved deeply, gave generously, and was always there for those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Dimitrios Soulios; her three daughters, Andrea Soulios of Manchester, Cassandra Rank and her husband, Christopher Rank, of Manchester, and Eliana Soulios of Tampa, Florida; her sister, Constance Boardman of Concord, New Hampshire; and her three beloved grandchildren, Dimitrios Perkins, Elisandra Torruella, and Kathryn Rank. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, former students, and colleagues who will sadly miss her.
Kathy's love, guidance, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always. She touched countless lives with her kindness, humor, and caring heart. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many students whose lives she helped shape.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery.
