Lt. Col. (ret) Kendall E. Foster, 86, of 101 Williams Way, Goffstown, NH died December 8, 2007 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. He was born in Quincy, MA on August 7, 1921, the son of Frank and Elsie (McClenning) Foster and lived in Milton, MA for many years. He attended Thayer Academy and graduated from Northeastern University. He served in the United States Air Corps as a pilot during World War II. During his military career, he was awarded several medals. He was an Air Force reservist for many years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1981. He was a master electrician and owned and operated several companies, including an electrical consulting firm. He belonged to many professional organizations and was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the American Legion. He was also an accomplished painter and sculptor and several of his works won acclaim and awards within the art community. He had been a NH resident since 1978. He was the widow of Ruth (Lamb) Foster who died in 2002. Family members include three daughters, Diane Putnam of Ashburnham, MA, Cheryl Young of Goffstown, NH and Dale Williams of Stoddard, NH; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother, Robert E. Foster of Milton, MA; and nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering is scheduled for Saturday January 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the community center at Medford Farm in Goffstown, NH. Urn burial will take place in the Massachusetts State Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon, MA at a later date. Donations may be made to the Goffstown Volunteer Fire Department.
