Kenneth N. Couch, 76, of Pembroke NH, died Saturday, August 9, 2025
Kenny was born in Hartford CT on February 4, 1949, to Norman and Viola (Carter) Couch. He graduated from Rockville High School in 1967. His first job was working for his dad at Norm’s Sheet Metal Shop installing and servicing heating and air conditioning units all over the state of CT. He then went on to General Electric and Gerber Scientific where he was a service technician at both companies, often being criticized for being too thorough. While working for Gerber Scientific he enjoyed traveling throughout the US and to England. He retired in 2006 after being diagnosed with MS and moved to NH in 2008 where he lived until his passing.
Kenny had many passions, mostly related to cars. In his younger years, it was a ’56 Chevy, then a ‘68 GTX and more recently his “Big Red” Dodge Ram truck and his Honda Trike. He faithfully followed the Red Sox and the Patriots, especially following Tom Brady’s career. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and Ancient Aliens. Before moving to NH, he was in a bowling league and a darts league. He was incredibly active and took pride in taking care of his property and vehicles, enjoyed riding his trike and truck throughout NH and beyond until the MS symptoms prevented him from being as active as he wanted to be. Mowing the lawn and snow blowing the driveway were tasks he took very seriously as long as he was able. He was lovingly described as a “Swiss Army knife” as he had many talents and abilities. He was known by family and friends to be able to fix anything and always wanted to know how things worked.
Kenny is survived by his sister, Janette “Ginger”; his caregiver and dear friend of six years, Brandy Jones; many cousins and extended family members across the country; and cherished friends in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Fred.
