KENNETH "JOHN" DYER Kenneth "John" Dyer, 74, of Manchester, NH, died May 1, 2008, at his home, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Dyer was born on July 19, 1933, in Quincy, MA, the son of the late Kenneth and Margerette (Shields) Sidebothem. He was then adopted by Simeon Dyer when he was 8 years old. He grew up in Hingham, MA. He was a graduate from Boston College Law School and was affiliated with the Dominican Order. Mr. Dyer was employed as a lawyer with the Social Security Administration until retiring there in 1989 to Hudson, NH. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Hudson, NH, as well as being active in various civic organizations. He was an active member of a 12 Step organization for 30 years. In addition to his trusted fellow traveler Midnight, John leaves his cousins Sue Shell of Florida and Frank Reichart of Rockville, IL. He also leaves a multitude of friends, in New Hampshire, Florida, and New York for whom he was spiritual advisor and mentor. Calling hours will be Friday, May 9, from 3 – 6 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 10 AM, at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Lowell Street, in Manchester. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite # 110, Bedford, NH 03110, in memory of Mr. Dyer.
