Kenneth “Kenny” N. Ranfos, 69, of Bedford, NH passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at his home in Bedford, NH.
Kenny was born on January 2, 1956, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Nicholas and Rita (Belaski) Ranfos and from a young age, he grew to love the outdoors—a passion that would stay with him throughout his life.
Prior to his retirement, for 47 years, Kenny worked as a dedicated meat cutter (not to be confused with a butcher) at Sully’s Superette, where he greeted customers with a smile and a deep knowledge of his craft. He was more than just a familiar face—he was a pillar of his community. He was a true legend of the West Side.
Ken shared his life with his loving wife Kimberley Ann Ranfos (Sullivan), with whom he raised their three children: Corey, Collin, and Katelyn. Her passing was a loss he carried with quiet strength, honoring her memory in the way he continued to show up for their children. Even if Ken wasn’t coaching his kids, he certainly never missed a game.
Kenny was happiest outdoors—with a fishing rod in hand, exploring the woods during hunting season, or cheering on his favorite Boston sports teams (particularly the Bruins). He prioritized family ski trips, and hunting and fishing trips. Ken had traveled all over the country pursuing the next big hunt with his closest companion, Glenn Ranfos.
From a young age, Ken participated in little league baseball, local bowling leagues, archery tournaments, and was a 55 year long member of the Pointer’s Fish and Game Club. He also was an avid dog lover. In his later years, Kenny enjoyed setting lobster traps out of Hampton Beach, NH and loved having friends and family over for a feast on what they caught. He was a dedicated member of the Raphael Social Club in Manchester; his favorite place to frequent.
Ken was married a second time to Theresa Chauvin of Laconia, NH. They shared a mutual interest of traveling together and spending time with neighbors and friends.
Ken will be remembered for his friendly personality, willingness to help anyone and his dedication and love for his kids.
Kenny is survived by his three children, Corey Ranfos of Centerville, MA; Collin Ranfos of Bedford, NH; Katelyn Ranfos (Zachary Cleveland) of Manchester, NH; mother in law Cecile Sullivan of Bedford, NH; sister Cookie (Mike) Antonucci of Manchester, NH; sister Janet Ranfos (Mark Martin) of Londonderry, NH; sister in law Kathy (Jim) O’Connell of Manchester, NH; brother in law Kevin Sullivan of York, ME; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
