Kira Bailey

1939 — 2024

Nashua

Kira Bailey passed away October 22, 2024 at home in Nashua, NH. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Henry and Maxine Ballard. She was the wife of Gerald Bailey. They were married in May 1971, at St. Mark's Cathedral in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Kira was born in 1939 and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her early years were spent growing up on her family farm where she developed a life-long love of animals and nature.

In 1970 she met the love of her life, her husband Gerald. In 1971 they were married and moved to California where they raised their two children, Randy and Stephen. The family moved several times, from California, Utah, New Brunswick, Canada, and England. She would settle later in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She loved to travel and experience new places.

Having developed a love of art from an early age, she studied commercial art and graphic design, graduating from Utah Technical College and also attending the University of Utah. She began her career doing freelance art and was part of the advertising department at a large Salt Lake City department store. Years later, she worked for a global magazine doing illustrations and advertising. Her career took many paths including being a medical assistant and later Assistant Manager at Earth Energies, a local health food store. Under Shamrock Vale Studios, her love for artwork and pets combined into success with commission pet portraits. She loved art, writing, and science, combining all of these into several unpublished children’s books and science fantasy novels. Her work culminated into a period of art and writing as she worked to complete her first novel.

Her love of history led her to become a revolutionary war reenactor and volunteer treasurer for the 10th Regiment of Foot in America. She loved family trips to historical sites connected with the American Revolution and was an avid reader of history. She was a life-long member of the Rosicrucian Order (AMORC) and an office volunteer for the Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua, New Hampshire.

She is predeceased by her husband Gerald Bailey, son Randy Bailey, and daughter-in-law Deb Bailey.

She is survived by her son Stephen Bailey, daughter-in-law Graziela Bailey, grandson Robert Bailey and his wife Cheyanne, great grandson Fox Bailey, cousins Ayla Eymann, Abra Karhan, Aaron Eymann and wife Nisa, and her cousin Rita Simons.
