Laura Mae Whittemore

Laura Mae Whittemore, 86 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at her home in Hinsdale, NH. She was born in Chesterfield, NH on June 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Percy and Alice (Dobson) Rowe.

Laura worked for over 40 years at Holstein Association USA Inc. She also worked at Ames Dept. store for 15 years, Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. for 10 years, Vernon Pre-School as a part time substitute and the Teddy Bear Day Care for 5 years. Laura loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping with her husband and family, reading and caring for her birds, cats and flowers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence "Peanut;" Whittemore in 2013; two brothers; and three sisters.

Laura is survived by a son, Richard Whittemore of Hinsdale; three daughters, Helena Gurney of Hinsdale, Louise Gleason of Winchester, and Sharon Richardson of Vernon; twelve loving grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 47 Walnut St. Brattleboro. Graveside committal services and interment will take place in the spring at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hinsdale.
