Laurence Paul Benz, Jr., 71, of Hooksett, passed away on April 18, 2022 in the comfort of his own home. He is the loving husband of Mary (McKinnon) Benz with whom he shared almost 36 years of marriage.
He was born in Candia to Laurence, Sr. and Marjorie (Scribner) Benz on February 2, 1951. A tradesman by nature, he started his electrical career and eventually earned a Master Electrician title. He owned and operated Benz Electric Company and was proud to say he held 5 professional licenses.
Laurence had many hobbies. He enjoyed camping and hunting and most of all, his gun collection. He was an avid train collector and enthusiast and could tell you anything about them. He was a family man and a very social person and loved to pass on his knowledge to anyone who would listen. His great granddaughter, Freya, was the light of his life and brought him so much joy every day. He will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
Along with his wife, Laurence is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Hammack and her partner James Phelps, grandchildren, Fallon Barlow and her partner Daniel Chambers, and Fagan Hammack, great granddaughter, Freya Chambers, sisters; Corkey Kliner, Bobby Richards, Beth Benz, and Susan Benz, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Lin Benz.
